Reasons why home care is need for short        term cases

Certain concerns after day surgery and hospital discharge can be well handled by healthier individuals but for those with frailty and aging conditions the following can be an issue and would need assisstance specially for the elders. 

  • generally not feeling well
  • surgical pain
  • muscle aches
  • drowsiness
  • sore throat

Others may experience headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and mouth or jaw pain. Though these are all normal after-effects and are not cause for alarm but should be watched for specially for sick and elderly.

The following are after-effects that may require medical attention. Ourcaregivers can help clients contact your physician immediately for the following cases:
  • severe pain
  • unexplained/unusually heavy bleeding;
  • persistent vomiting or inability to tolerate liquids for more than one night
  • temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater

Follow-up Medical Care that may need assistance

Home-care instructions upon your discharge, and doctor specified follow-up care that clients may need as well as patients who received anesthesia a follow-up phone call by a day surgery nurse one to two days after surgery.


Respite Care

Respite Care is provided to individuals being cared for as a break for caregivers and families where conditions can be due to disabilities, or chronic or terminal illnesses. Respite can occur in out-of-home and in-home settings for any length of time, depending on the needs of the family and available resources.
